Louis Martin Custom Knives is a family-run American knife brand founded in 1993 in East Northport, New York. Across three generations, we have hand-forged and supplied Damascus knives, hunting blades, and specialty steel — made at our own dedicated facility, finished and shipped from the USA — to hunters, collectors, chefs, and professionals across all 50 US states and internationally.
Our Story
What began in 1993 as a knife business run out of East Northport, New York has grown into a three-generation family brand — father to son to grandson — each generation expanding the catalog, the customer base, and the reach of the brand.
We built our reputation over three decades by standing behind our product. By producing at our own dedicated facility, where we control the spec, not just the order — then finishing, inspecting, and shipping every order from the USA. By listening to hunters who've carried our blades through a lifetime of seasons, chefs who've put our Damascus kitchen knives through daily professional use, and collectors who've come to recognize the Louis Martin name as a reliable mark of quality.
First Generation
Founded Louis Martin in East Northport, New York and stood up the family’s own knife production — the foundation the catalog is still built on today.
Second Generation
Scaled our own manufacturing, grew the catalog and the wholesale side, and tightened quality standards across every pattern.
Third Generation
Took the brand direct to customers online and at gun and knife shows — while keeping forging in-house and finishing, inspection, and shipping in the USA.
How We Work
Louis Martin Custom Knives makes its knives at a dedicated facility we operate ourselves — giving us direct control over blade profiles, steel grades, handle materials, grind geometry, and finish quality. Every pattern in our catalog is forged to our standards, then finished, inspected, and shipped from the USA before it reaches a customer.
We sell through multiple channels: our own website, eBay, Amazon, Etsy, Shopify, Facebook, Instagram, Whatnot, gun and knife shows, and direct wholesale. Our fulfillment operation runs out of East Northport, NY, where the business has been based since day one.
The Catalog
Damascus steel is our signature — pattern-welded, multi-layer blades where no two patterns are alike.
