OWN FACILITY · OUR SPEC · EVERY PIECE INSPECTED
Every blade starts with a defined alloy. We specify the steel — Damascus 1095/15N20, D2 tool steel, 440C stainless, or 1080 high-carbon — to our exact requirements.
We don't buy off a shelf. Louis Martin operates its own dedicated manufacturing facility, giving us direct control over production standards and consistency across every pattern.
Handle geometry, blade profile, bevel type, grind, and finish are all specified by us. Every new pattern is developed and signed off before it enters the catalog.
Every shipment is inspected on arrival. Edge geometry, fit, finish, and hardness are checked against spec. Anything that doesn't meet standard doesn't reach a customer.
Not every knife makes the cut. We carry what we stand behind — patterns proven over hundreds of thousands of orders, refined on real customer feedback.
Orders ship from East Northport, NY. We handle every inquiry, wholesale order, and return directly, across eBay, Amazon, Etsy, Facebook, Instagram, Whatnot, and gun and knife shows.
FOUR PRIMARY ALLOYS · SPECIFIED TO OUR STANDARDS
Pattern-welded high-carbon stack, folded to 256+ layers, acid-etched to reveal the flow. No two patterns repeat.
High-carbon, high-chromium tool steel. 60–62 HRC. Semi-stainless corrosion resistance with exceptional wear life.
Full corrosion resistance at 58–60 HRC. Chosen for marine environments, kitchens, and low-maintenance buyers.
Workhorse blade steel. Tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and forgiving of hard use. The steel hunters have trusted for a century.
FATHER · SON · GRANDSON · 1993–TODAY
Louis Martin has been family-owned since 1993 — now run across three generations, from founding the brand to building our own production and taking it direct to customers nationwide. Every blade is hand-forged at our own dedicated facility, then finished, inspected, and shipped from the USA.
